While the missions are KIND OF the same; ie shooting down planes, bombing; it has a very realistic atmosphere.Some missions are hard, which makes it challenging. I give it a 9/10 because I can never seem to land for a refill, which isn't important, you don't need to in anyway it's just something you can do if you want to.. Be aware that this game is abandoned. Installs dodgy software onto your computer and the DLC does not work with it. Multiplayer has been shut down.It comes from developers Gaijin who make war thunder, its an old game, I think the problems originate before they made war thunder when they had this yuplay software and store system.The game could be so much more than what it has been left as. This could be the greatest arcade flying game, with the ability to breach into simulation mode, it has good cut scenes and the modelling is good, physics are good. The user interface is okay. However...The campaign modes are broken the missions can be buggy.yuplay is dodgy software flagged as malicious and is broken software installed by force with Wings of Prey. BIG NO. lots of problems regarding this. No ability to log on. Multiplayer has been completely disabled meaning achievements cannot be completed.Have tried everything contacting Steam support, Gaijin support. I cannot get the DLC to work with the game yet its still being sold on the store... they tried to get me to turn off anti virus, turn off firewalls and other suspicious activity when this is clearly not the problem. Very odd requests from their support.I would definitely say avoid this title at all costs until something is done about it.I have warned you.This could have been one of the greatest single player flying games on Steam but has been neglected.. Stay away! Don't buy this game because you need to log in to a stupid YU play account. It kills your router and you can't reconnect to the internet until you restart all your hardware. If you can take that buy a joystick, impossible to play without on realistic and simulator difficulty settings. Oh and multiplayer is totaly dead.. WoP is the PC version of Birds of Prey on consoles, which was a revolutionary implementation of dual-thumbstick control allowing use of a gamepad's analog shoulder buttons for throttle or accurate rudder, freeing up a thumbstick as freelook for a huge advantage in close PvP combat. In BoP, it was possible to neutral the throttle at 50%, with L2 reducing it to 0, and R2 increasing it to 100. It is not possible to do that in WoP. At least, not without tweaking the config files, which isn't possible under Steam. Without fast throttle control, you get destroyed in dogfights. But PvP is long gone from this title, so ok, you can at least hook the rudder to it and shred the AI's. But oops, there's a fatal glitch - L2 is permanently hooked to "zoom view" and can't be unhooked, no matter what else you assign to it, and even if you unassign all look functions in control setup. This makes the game unplayable using that trigger. Without both triggers, there's no point even bothering to play, it's like flying a damaged plane. I requested a refund for this defective game and was refused. I won't be buying anything from Steam again. Don't buy this title, nor any flight sim or other game where you typically modify files to make them function well. 1C should not have handed their last decent IL-2 title to this garbage platform.. This takes too much effort to set up.First I had to find a configuration file and change some crap to "yes" because it was being a jerkThen, I configured my joystick, and ..... oh wait, I need to be logged in, in order to actually play anything. OK... let me exit.Steam: "Wings of prey -Running" "no, no it isn't"Steam: "yes, it is still running" "NO, NO IT ISN'T"So wait, I need to restart my computer every time I exit the main program in order to restart the damned game itself? and what the hell is YU? Crap should be steamlined at this point. I shouldn't need to jump through hoops. Pressing play, should mean just that.... not more and more setting up. I haven't even gotten to play the game yet. Frankly, at this point. I don't want to.
